Director Tim
Moose, joined our meeting and to accommodate him, we then went
to New Business.
Executive Board
Members and President Michelle Hamby advised the Director that
we would like to know and have his support. He was also advised
of the things that NCPPA has done and we were also there as a
tool to get things forwarded to him and to support him as well.
President Hamby also advised the Director that we would like to
do a presentation to him and the Secretary Staff to show what
NCPPA is all about.
Director Moose
advised that he did support NCPPA – and renewed his membership
for 3 years. He advised us that as the budget gets better we
would see things get back to normal. He advised that the
Secretary’s staff met on Monday’s and they were looking into the
restrictions that have been placed on us as far as travel and us
taking Vacation time for our meetings. He assured us that the
Secretary’s Office supports us and the efforts that we are
making.
Director Moose
advised that he would send a letter out for us to put on the web
site to show and advise of his support.
The Director
was asked about the Training Institute for 2010. We advised him
that it was imperative that we go ahead and start the planning,
but especially getting the location and hotel. He advised that
he will try to have answers by the end of the month for us on
that issue.
Director Moose
was given an over all look at what NCPPA has done in the past.
We requested that the Issues and Resolutions continue to be
utilized so that issues from the field could be heard and
responded to. Director Moose advised that he thought that was a
great idea and he wanted us to continue to utilize that forum.
Director Moose
had to then leave, but advised that he appreciated all of our
efforts and to continue to do as we have.
President Hamby
then advised that she would like to see each Division do
something for Christmas. She advised that there were Angel Food
Ministries all over North Carolina, where you could get food
that fed families in need.
Lorie Wright
advised to let her know what we would do so that she could put
it in the next TALK issue.
Discussion was
held about the Ms. Rocshena Gill, who had been in a car accident
while on duty. Rodney Trogdon made a motion to send her and her
family $300.00 to assist in whatever was needed. Katherine
Horne seconded. Motion passed.
Discussion was
then held about CPPO Noel Rose, who has been in the hospital for
20 + days, very ill. Latashia advised us all of his status.
Rodney Trogdon made a motion to send $300.00 to his wife, CPPO
Stephanie Rose to assist in whatever she needed. Katherine
Horne, seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Letters were
going to be done to give with the checks.

OLD
BUSINESS:
New NCPPA
Pamphlets were sent to everyone by Susan Walker. Tammy and
Bethel advised that they needed more. Maggie Brewer had some to
give to them and Susan will send her more. Maggie continues to
go to the Basic School graduation ceremonies, where she hands
out the pamphlets to the new officers.
Annual Meeting
About 50 people
went to Charlotte for the Annual Meeting and about 40 people
participated in the Fun Day Event.
NEW
BUSINESS:
The 2010
Training Institute was discussed
As earlier in
the meeting, the Director advised he would try to let us know
something by the end of the month, on whether we would be
allowed Training Time and whether we would be able to take State
Vehicles to the event.
It had been
discussed early this year that Division 4 would still host the
2010 event. Most possibly going back to Charlotte at the
Holiday Inn, since Chris Buchanan had all the contacts there.
Discussion was
held about the Divisions would still host, but not necessarily
having to have it in their area, having it where the most people
would be attracted to go.
STATE
COMMITTEES:
Latashia
Williams, incoming NCPPA 2010 President advised that she would
like to keep everyone the same, if no objections. Rodney
Trogdon was asked to assist Susan Walker with Membership and he
advised that he would.

passed.
